It might seem like it BUT, this is where using your spirit comes in. We have a human spirit. When we get saved, the Lord’s Spirit merges into our spirit within us. That is why He said, “God is Spirit and those who worship Him (one way of worshipping Him is to read His word) must worship Him in spirit and truth (reality).

Abram taking Hagar as his wife instead of waiting for God’s promise that he would have a son by Sarai, is an example of us not waiting on the Lord and/or trying to solve our problem ourselves. Instead of letting God stay in control of our lives, we can’t wait, so we take matters into our own hands. And when we do that, usually our circumstances get worse or at least do not turn out so good. That is what happened when Abram and Sarai didn’t wait. The offspring from Hagar, Ishmael, has been a thorn in Israel’s side ever since. So, in most of the instances we read, usually there is an underlying lesson.

We need to try to exercise our spirits when reading God’s word. We want to have more of Him not more knowledge. When we get more of Him, we grow spiritually and our understanding becomes clearer.

Praise the Lord. My spouse and I have been enjoying His word early in the morning . It’s been great to start reading through the bible in one year. Should have done this, years ago.

I think that is what Solom said. "There is nothing new under the sun." Or something like that.

But what is new is the Lord's life working in us. The more we go to Him, read the bible, fellowship with brothers and sisters in the Lord, read, yes, read good Christians writings by men, pray, sing and glorify God, the more we grow spiritually in our understanding of Him and His nature.

Thus we are able to confidently follow the Great Commission. Preaching the gospel and defending our faith correctly so as to save souls.

Praise the Lord.

Babalou, I am confused as to why you chose the "topic",(alot of lying _ _ _ _?).

However, I must agree with Yearling, who gave a wonderful answer to said topic.
We all must be reborn and Spirit filled to understand the things of the Spirit, we must also look for the lessons in the scriptures instead of trying to find the errors. Gods Word, which is complete in the books of Genesis through The Revelation is inerrant, infallible, never clashes and is complete.
May we all filled with the Holy Spirit as we post on this forum, and help each other grow in the truth.

God bless

You refer to John 4:24 whereby Jesus says that the Father is a Spirit. We need to note that Jesus doesn’t speak about himself here. He confirms it in:

Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

So what you say about Trinity? How many times we are told that God is triune?
