CAN GOD? GOD CAN! 1 Year, 1 Month ago Kudos: 0
Acts: 9: 32-34

Meanwhile Peter traveled from place to place, and he came down to visit the believers in the town of Lydda. 33. There he met a man named Aeneas, who had been paralyzed and bedridden for eight years. 34. Peter said to him,"Aeneas Jesus Christ heals you! Get up and roll up your mat!"

Immediately after Peter had said those words, the bible says Aeneas was healed! I have been very encouraged by the New Testament Scriptures that we have been reading! These scriptures continue to remind us of the miraculous healing powers of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! We are also reminded that the men through which God worked, were filled with the Holy Spirit! Why is it that we do not see the Lord move as He did through the disciples of old in today's church? Yes, I have seen the Lord heal, because He has healed me. Why is it, that these miracles seem to be so few and far in between? Are we not seeking the Lord as we should? Are we not filled with His Holy Spirit? Do we not believe as we should?

I know that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever! If He healed then, He can heal now! It is up to the saints of the Most High God to lay prostrate before Him, and to pray without ceasing, to be filled with His Spirit! Then, and only then, will God begin to move through His disciples, as He did in the early church!

I have a vested interest in seeing God work miraculously through His people! I am also talking about myself. Like Aeneas, I am paralyzed and bedridden. If He healed him, then He can heal me as well! I still believe in the miraculous and wondrous working power of the Lord. Let us strive to be anointed with fresh oil, so that we can be used by Jesus Christ to lay hands on the sick, or to simply speak the word in His name, to see the sick recover. I am in need of a miracle. Please pray for me, in Jesus'name!

GOD BLESS YOU “Melody”.....and thank you for sharing, that is a blessing in itself! You truly are a “melodymaker,” because your testimony of faith is music to my ears...and HIS!

I do believe in the GOD of miracles!...I believe that just the fact that HE loves us “just as we are” (sinful, unworthy)....and wants us to share an everlasting life together with HIM, is a miracle!

Please know there are faithful brothers and sisters, believing as well, according to HIS WILL....praying for you.

I've listed some of the scripture (there are so many!...and plenty I have not yet read) pertaining to faith, hope, love ~ always!.. which I pray will be encouraging... as well as enlightening to some.

Hebrews 10:23...Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Isaiah 40:28-31...

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Psalm 33:20-22...
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.

Psalm 62:5-8...
5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God ;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Selah

Romans 15:4...For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Each one of us has “mountains to be moved” sooner or later, throughout our time here.....
Some are (..or can appear to be) bigger and more intimidating than others....but no matter the size, each has a great and wonderful purpose to contribute to the VICTORY promised through our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

Mathew 17:20..“....I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Luke 1:37 “...For nothing is impossible with God."

Mathew 19:26..Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Philippians 4...Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15:50-58...
50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. 54When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."55"Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?"56The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 John 5:1-5...
1Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. 2This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Romans 8:18-28, 35-39:

18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. 22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

...35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 1:3-9:

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

James 5:13-16:

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

John 14:6-21...

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him."
8Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us."

9Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. 11Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. 12I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

15"If you love me, you will obey what I command. 16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— 17the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. 21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

Luke 9:2...and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Luke 10:9...Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.'

Spiritual Gifts
1 Corinthians 12

1Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant. 2You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. 3Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

4There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. 11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

12The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many. 15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. 19If they were all one part, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

21The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,

25so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles,also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.

---------------------------------------------------------

Here is some food for thought:

1 Corinthians 13:1-8,13

Love

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.

...13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

----------------------------------------------------------

Psalm 34

1 I will extol the LORD at all times;
       his praise will always be on my lips.

 2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
       let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
 3 Glorify the LORD with me;
       let us exalt his name together.
 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
       he delivered me from all my fears.
 5 Those who look to him are radiant;
       their faces are never covered with shame.
 6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
       he saved him out of all his troubles.
 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
       and he delivers them.
 8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
       blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
 9 Fear the LORD, you his saints,
       for those who fear him lack nothing.
 10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
       but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
 11 Come, my children, listen to me;
       I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
 12 Whoever of you loves life
       and desires to see many good days,
 13 keep your tongue from evil
       and your lips from speaking lies.
 14 Turn from evil and do good;
       seek peace and pursue it.
 15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous
       and his ears are attentive to their cry;
 16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
       to cut off the memory of them from the earth.
 17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
       he delivers them from all their troubles.
 18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
       and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
 19 A righteous man may have many troubles,
       but the LORD delivers him from them all;
 20 he protects all his bones,
       not one of them will be broken.
 21 Evil will slay the wicked;
       the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
 22 The LORD redeems his servants;
       no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

Romans 15:13....May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Thanks again Melodymaker, for being such a blessing!

Melody.

My wary is that Christianity might be committing idolatry by worshipping unscriptural pagan styled triune God and stripping the Father the only true God (John 17:3) of His kingdom, power and glory (Mt 6:13), allocating it to their idol a “fallen angel Satan”.

Further, they fail to recognize that their sufferings come from God (as always did) for their sins and do not turn away from their idols.

Jesus didn’t have power to do the miracles (Mt 11:27) but the Father the only true God (John 17:3) did His works by / through him (John 11:41, 14:10, Ac 2:26) to mention but three while Paul left Trophimus sick (2Ti 4:20).

Then, after the resurrection, Jesus not the apostles, receiving all power (Mt 28:18), did the miracles (Mr 16:20).

sēmeion - Neuter of a presumed derivative of the base of G4591; an indication, especially ceremonially or supernaturally: - miracle, sign, token, wonder.

The question is:

Why do we have to go to the Father (John 14:6, Eph 2:18) if God is triune? Why through Jesus not to Jesus? Why “by one Spirit unto the Father” if Jesus is the “coequal God?

Jesus is now in flash as his chosen shall be:

Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

When will this be?

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
Joh 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
Act 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Act 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
where to repent:
Act 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

So who says about going to heaven if Jesus is coming to rise and to judge his followers at the appointed or the last day?

1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
