The email system makes the readings extraordinarily convenient, however...

Would it be possible to create an account with the entire site, not just the discussion forum -- for the purposes of allowing you to set your start date and translation preferences for the emails?

Or, perhaps if this is unacceptable to the publishing agency, because it can potentially limit profit ...perhaps you could offer this kind of account to people who buy the Bible...or purchase it online...via a security code in the back of the Bible?

thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately at this time the discussion forum and the email subscription service are two separate entities so a single account is not possible. as far as the start date for emails goes, we've had a few others with similar requests but as of this date nothing is planned for that. but you never know...
