69 "But from now on THE SON OF MAN WILL BE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND of the power OF GOD."
70 "And they all said, "Are You the Son of God, then?"

I am curious as to why the shift from "Son of Man" to "Son of God". I'm assuming one is a reference to Old Testament text.

Still, I am curious as to why my version of the Bible doesn't refer to Christ by the same term.

Is there something going on here other than simply demanding the reader to ask another question?

the sanhedrin was trying to trap jesus to admit he was the christ, the messiah,
but they had already prejudged him not to be.

he referred them to his second coming, for proof that he was christ,
jesus refers to the term 'son of man' from the book of daniel

we can probably suppose that the jewish faith understood that the messiah should be both son of man and son of god.
