Hi there!

I have just located this forum. What a great idea! I started reading the 1 yr bible earlier this month and am terrible at staying consistent with bible reading. Have tried for many years. Definitely struggle!! I think (as some others have mentioned) that part of the problem can be the endless questions which arise from reading quite seemingly barbaric things in the old testament, and also just the fact that life is busy.

I really do need the bible though. I work as a counsellor/social worker - and need to get answers to tough questions which constantly hit me. E.g. on a daily basis confronted with issues regarding sexuality, human rights, abuse and injustice etc. I tend to do alot of study in psychology/politics etc but don't tend to get the God answers, which I guess leaves me in a dangerous place.

Look forward to hearing some perspectives on here.

Sarah.

Hi Sarah!

Welcome to the forum
I understand the potential dangers of not spending time in the Word, as do many other here.
Sometimes fields that we are engaged in have sources that also have pitfalls, despite their usefulness.
Happy Bible reading!

May the Lord bless you and I give you "kudos" for joining the forum

Peace
