Great site.

I thought the new forum could use a "hi there I'm new" thread.

I'll kick it off.

I'm Brian. I live in Wisconsin. I've grappled with my faith all my life. Sometimes I've felt better about it than others. But one thing I know for sure is that the times I feel most at peace in my life, regardless of circumstances, are the times that I've been closest to God.

Thanks for the site.

I was wondering where to put something like this! hehe

There doesn't seem to be a General Catch-All location.

Anyway, I am curious to see what happens here in the forums. I have been a Christian for many years. But, 2008 was the first year I have ever read through teh entire Bible. I read whole books fo rthe very first time this year. It has been awesome! I love the online resource. As an IT guy, I spend all day in front of my computer. Having the Bible In A Year site on my 'daily visit' list is a no-brainer!

Looking forward to the discussions.

Good Evening... we are delighted to find the forum where we can discuss this great program.
My husband and I have almost finished going through the Bible this year, for the first time in our almost 50 years of marriage. This is absolutely the best online Bible reading program and we use it daily along with a great online audio bible program.

Today our power was off due to a storm in the area and we had to read without the great help of a audio Bible online that we use along with the one-year Bible. Definitely missed that help.

We live in Los Angeles , California.

I am quite new to discussion forums like this.

I have been a "through the Bible" reader for many years and I am really excited to see new comers to this wonderful discipline!

I am involved in a prison ministry, and have given a talk called Discovery, that focuses on the value of daily Bible reading and study. I tell our candidates about how God called me to this discipline about 25 years ago in a series of
'coincidences'/ really small miracles, to bless me, increase my faith, and be able to have this testimony to share with inmates here in MI.

I remember making a resolution to try to read through in a year back then, and God really helped me to do it and keep going.

God's blessings,

Al

I believe that this forum will be extremely valuable to believers who begin the One Year Bible journey. I personally hope to gain insights that I may never come up with on my own as well as challenge the community with any bible questions I may encounter on the way. Thank you for providing this tool for us to use! I look forward to building community with fellow travellers.

I agree Lance..
I often wish I could ask a question in regards to a passage, etc...
I am happy that the forum has been established.
Speaking of daily readings...the book of Habakkuk was very insightful today....

We have found that some scriptures that we have known since childhood, when read in the context of the chapter , give a whole new meaning to the verses too!

Thanks for the quick reply rejoicing-two! I can see that this forum is going to be well worth the time to campout with! I will never forget the time my Pastor said to the congregation, "What are you going to say in Heaven when Habakuk steps up to you and asks, "So what did you think of my Book?" Ha ha... That got quite a reaction from folks and I think half of the church promptly went home and read his book of prophecy! Now only 65 books left to read...

A pilgrim in progress,

Lance Muller

Susi here! I've read through the bible in a year in many formats. The first year I did it was with a One Year Bible for Women. I'm following the Chronological method this year. I've often been confused about that so I'm glad that I found this new format. Also glad to have this forum. I'm an IT person too and on all day. Hope to continue to keep up with posting...
