Hi Debbie,
It's very nice to meet you as well.
Re “I probably won't have much to say” …
You probably have a lot more to say than you think …
your intro speaks volumes, as well as is inspiring. … Thank you for that.
.. It's also comforting to know that I'm not the only one who has trouble recalling scripture (Chapter and verse #'s are what I get stuck on) ….I can't tell you how
many times I thought
for sure I would remember, not write it down, and then ….
{sigh }
Good news though, if you're not
already aware … BibleGateway.com has a great passage/keyword search tool! … I use it
constantly ... It
can save a lot of time, too!
**…
{maybe I'm getting spoiled and that's part of the problem} … I am very thankful though, and ultimately I do trust that the SPIRIT will help me recall a particular scripture in due time when needed!
(Note: My memory
in general needs an overhaul anyway!)
** One thing I have learned using the keyword search … is how often scripture has indeed been misquoted. {myself included} … There have been times when I've had to use a variety of different “key” words to locate a particular passage I was looking for … {and that's with searching 5 different versions at once!}
............................................................................................................................
It's more laid back in here than people
{may?} think …
participation is key! … Input is very much valued here!… {even when there isn't always a “reply”... }
I think of this as not only a wonderfully encouraging opportunity to learn and grow in HIS WORD, but can also be a wonderful form of fellowship … there truly is
a great opportunity to share here… remember that scripture tells us that we are each a member of the same body … each part has an important function,
integral to the body as a whole. ..With CHRIST as the HEAD! ... Each one of us has a gift
{hehe ..which eventually will be revealed to us, I'm told} …
One example ... (of many) :
Romans 12:
3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7 If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8 if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
It really is up to each one of us to encourage one another ... there are plenty seeds to be sown, plenty of people who need to be fed …
Peace, and LORD Bless You All …
Grace
