Community Greetings,

My church has Growth Groups that meet by semesters that last 12 weeks and I am leading a study in the book of Hebrews. As I prepare for this study, I am looking for resources that are either fully prepared and effective Bible Studies on this book or materials that would lend themselves to a 12 week study. I enjoy mixing things up for my group so if there are resources such as PowerPoints or DVDs, that would be most helpful. Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Did you try looking at the Navpress Bible Study on the Book of Hebrews? It's one of their Lifechange Series and I found it to be pretty good when I went thru it last year with my study group at church. The questions were challenging and we had more than we could answer during a session, so our leader would select those that seemed appropriate for the group. There is no DVD with this one, but maybe you could supplement it with something else that someone would suggest. Good luck putting it together. I feel that Hebrews is a good deep book to grow by!

I was in my local Christian Bookstore today and you had me thinking that I should study the book of Hebrews. I checked out the bible study guides and found a really good one by Max Lucado. Here is a breif description on it:

Life Lessons with Max Lucado: Book Of Hebrews

Hebrews was written for Jewish believers torn between their new faith and their old routines and rituals. Lucado explains that Christianity, God's New Covenant is better in every way than the Old Covenant. With scripture reading, inspirational readings, questions to answer, space for journaling, and a prayer, it's like studying the Bible with Max Lucado.

I have read others things by Max and he has a really easy writing style that I like and he knows how to draw out application from the scriptures. I bought it for myself and will start it tonight. Take a look and see if it fits the bill for your study group.
