What is your Life Verse? 1 Year, 8 Months ago Kudos: 66
Is there a verse from the Bible that has special significance to you? Maybe its one piece of Scripture God used to inspire, challenge, or rescue you at a turning point in your life. Maybe it's a verse you learned as a child from a grandparent. Or one you recite each morning to begin your day.

Mine is as follows:

Romans 12:1-2 (New International Version)
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

If you don't think you have one, I'd encourage you to seek out His words for you. You will be surprised by how many you find that speak directly to your heart, but then you will come across one or two, that just moves you as though the Creator is looking into your eyes, speaking directly to your soul, with words written just for you! It is an incredible feeling when you find it, and you will find your mind referring back to that verse time after time as situations and circumstances require His words for you.

Consider sharing it here. Remember that as your circumstances change, so can your life verse. Here is a list to get you started in your quest for yours!

i've always liked

Philippians 4:11-13

11... I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.
I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,
whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

and

Habakkuk 1:5

5 "Look at the nations and watch—

For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.


i just came back to edit this post after reading another of your posts cartoonbug,

Phil 4:4-9
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Somehow I've overlooked this post until today...(It was hidden.) It's another great idea...

My current Life verses;

Psalms 19:14...Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD my strength, and my Redeemer.

Romans 8:28...And we know that all things work together for good to those who love GOD, to those who are called according to HIS purpose.

Psalm 91:1-2...1 He who dwells in the secret place of the MOST HIGH shall abide under the shadow of the ALMIGHTY. 2 I will say of the LORD, “HE is my refuge and my fortress: my GOD, in HIM I will trust.”

2 Corinthians 12:9a...."My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."...

Ephesians 6:10-18...
10Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take to you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

HIS answer to a prayer; Psalm 138:8...The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. PRAISE BE TO HIM!

To let me know HE understood, at a time when I really needed to know, and it brought me great comfort;
Psalm 34:18...The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. PRAISE BE TO HIM!


I've enjoyed reading the posted “life verses”...some of them are new to me...I like them all...especially Philippians 4:4-9! ( I'm not going to type it out, but I am adding it to my list!)
