The other day a homosexual joined a discussion our men's group was having at Starbucks.

I may not be perfect in my recollection; however, his insights went something like this:

1. When the angels in Sodom were approached by the towns menfolk who wanted to have sexual relations with them, God's disapproval was aimed at the display/sin of "inhospitality" rather than at the sin of men having sex with each other. The operative common and popular error originating with a misinterpretaton of the original Hebrew. [This may very well be one for Cartoonbug!]

2. When God's condemnation of "homosexuality" is brought up in another passage, the context has more to do with God's instruction for men and women to have sexual realtions and/to populate the earth, and less to do with the "nastiness"/sin of male-male sex. Sooo... that in and of itself could be a deal breaker, in that sexual energy [like masturbation even] spent in any other way than on the path to procreation is not good. The point here being, perhaps, that male-male sex is WAY worse than sex with a prostitue or sex in an adulterous relationship. [???]

3. Lesbianism isn't mentioned in the Bible. [!]

Anyway, I'm not looking for more of the agruments that inspire the charges of hipocrasy against Christians by some [many] who have turned their attitudes against those who like to talk a good line, but obviously fail to demonstrate Christ-like lives. I'm looking for something intelligent to take back to Starbucks next week.

You may or may not be familiar with the late night talk show “Hope In The Night” with June Hunt.
Her show airs on one of the local Christian radio stations in my area. I've listened to many of her shows at bedtime. She is an outstanding counselor, who gives counsel based on biblical principles.
You name it, she's dealt with it.....with amazing patience, I might add.

I was listening the night of this show (April 10th), and I thought that she did a wonderful job of gently and lovingly explaining “GOD'S PLAN” to this tenderhearted caller.

Be forewarned though, it is a 2 hour show......

Well, finally a response from someone...! [I know. The topic isn't a fun one.]

I just finished listening to the late night talk show “Hope In The Night” with June Hunt: April 10. It was not exactly what I was looking for. What I specifically wanted was a response from a Bible thumper who would speak with some authority on the passages I was referring to. I would still appreciate such a response, but will certainly not hold my breath.

Today has been another one of those days where there have been several little unexpected twists and turns that bring forth gratitude that the Holy Spirit is alive within. Appreciating your response, eyesonHIM, is how this day is going to end. Once again, thank you for paying attention and looking for ways to share in His awesome plan. I took notes on the 2-hour [!] presentation and will look for an opportunity to take something meaningful from this to Starbucks.
