How are we to pray?

Are we to Pray in that we treasure the name of Jesus above all else in this world. Pray that we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Pray all things in Jesus' holy name.

We are to pray in Jesus' Name to God, yes.

But are we to pray that we treasure the name of Jesus above all else? That does not make sense. Either we do or we don't treasure His name. We can't pray to or that we do. We are to be mindful that we do and can pray to God in Jesus' Name and thank Him that Jesus name is above all names or confess that it is. But we are not to pray that we do.

And pray that we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior? That does make sense either. Either we did or we didn't. We can't pray that we have.

We pray to God and confess our sins and repent and then we are saved and Jesus is then our Lord and Savior. We do not have to then later pray that we have. For we already have.

Some people don't know how to pray and teach the wrong way. Those people should not be in a teaching position.

Prayer is very important but if one does not know the Bible and know how to pray and what prayer really is, then they should not be teaching others and falsely teaching them incorrectly.

I believe prayer has been way over-complicated. It's as simple as this: you talk to God, and then you shut up and listen. I can give you a lot of scriptures on prayer, but I'd rather just tell you from personal experience that God is a real, loving person who wants to hear from and speak to His children every single day. If you have prayed the sinner's prayer according to Romans 10:9-10, then you just need to take some time to talk and listen.
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." (Joshua 1:9)
